About The Author Of My Customer Service Experience

Hello!  I’m Peter Scardino.  I live with my partner in Downtown Raleigh, North Carolina.  I’m divorced and have two wonderful children.

I’ve been involved in some sort of customer service since I was 13 years old.  At age 13 I ran a laundry mat in my neighborhood on the weekends.  I’ve worked in restaurants, convenience stores, retail outlets, a car dealership, as a guest service agent, concierge and guest relations manager in hotels, and I’ve even worked in non profits working with the homeless, managing staff, working with volunteers, board members, donors collaborated with other organizations and marketed the non profits.

In 29 years I’ve learned a lot about the do’s and dont’s of customer service.  As a consumer I know what I look for in a good customer service experience.   When I find it I want the world to know about it.  When I find the opposite of it, I still want the world to know about it.  I believe word of mouth is the most powerful form of advertisement.

I’m interested in giving people a place to tell the world about their customer service experiences primarily in Raleigh, NC, good or bad.  So I decided to begin this blog to accomplish that goal.  Use the blog to create reviews, provide details about service, price, product, management etc.  I want your opinion, your recommendations and your warnings.

There are many great places to shop, eat, experience entertainment and many other places where we spend our hard earned money for goods and services in Raleigh.  Many of the places that provide goods and services do a great job at providing excellent customer service…..and some not so good.

My hope is that people will use this blog to give praise where praise is due and criticism where criticism is due.  Also I hope that people involved in customer service, will read these blogs and learn from them.

I know there are hundreds of customer service professionals in the city that love what they do, and it shows in how they deal with their customers.  It shows in the profits that their businesses gross, and it shows in the growth of their customer base, and customer retention.

The flip side of this is also true.  There are people in customer service that should get out of it because they aren’t happy and they make their customers unhappy as well as the people they work for and with.

I want to hear about all kinds of stories related to your experience in customer service, so blog away!

Thanks,

Peter J. Scardino
